Whoops

Whoops I did something wrong...I was trying to make the blog cuter but I messed up, so that is why it looks all funny.

Bad Blogger

I would just like everyone to know that...we are bad bloggers. We are going to see if we can get Dan's letters on the blog, so maybe we will get better. :)

Elder Kidd's call!

On Christmas day at about 5:00 p.m. we had the opportunity to talk to Elder Kidd. He called and told us how much he was loving being out there in California serving the Lord. We each got 10 minutes to talk to him one on one, and it was great!! We can't wait until Mother's day now!!

First Letter from Dan

Hey everybody,
Uno semana down, I believe 103 left- ha, ha.

Man, I thought today would never come. I've been wanting to write to you all ever since day one. That’s going to be so tough for me only writing you guys once a week.I will do a formal email for everyone once a week and then after that I'll write you your own individual letters.Let’s see, what to write about. The first three or four days here were awful. Like seriously, everyone starts to wonder why we’re here. But once we got passed Sunday, things have really picked up.It’s nice, I've seen all my friends here- I see Ben Aird all the time. I see Jaime occasionally, I see Jordan Hill a lot too, and I've seen Devin a few times. Guess what? Nick Nash is in my zone so I see him all the time every day. He's changed so much it’s crazy. If you ask me I think that’s what it’s talking about when the scriptures say “a mighty change of heart”, wow.For the first three days here, classes were grueling. They would be three hours long and we would have three of those a day (much worse than school). However, now things are much better. We still have long blocks of class, but now things are broken up a little more and for one of the three hour blocks, we’re just studying an hour personal, an hour companion, and an hour language.Speaking of my companion, well I'm still not one hundred percent on how I feel. He can be really cool or he can be really annoying. He use to sing in this really loud vibrato voice and it was so annoying and he would do that all the time everywhere we went, but he has since calmed down on that, I think due to the many looks he was getting. He's a tad socially awkward. Let’s see, the other day he was pinching me with his toes as I was writing in my journal. I was just like, what the heck are you doing? And he really seems to be enjoying MY packages that you guys have been sending (which are super generous by the way). But anyway, enough about him for now or my computer time will run out. Ha, ha.Mom, please send me two more t-shirts asap. We have five gym periods a week and my shirts were getting funky in a hurry. I was thinking a faith factor :) seriously though, and my Bountiful shirt- the one with just the Indian head (that is assuming Andy hasn't stolen it or it’s been thrown away).I learned how to do this cool snappy thingy with my fingers. I wasn't good at first but my companion hates it, so I've been big on practicing- ha, ha. I'm getting pretty good if you don't mind me saying. The second day here, we learned how to pray in Spanish. It was the first thing we learned which is really cool- what better way to say, “Help me learn Spanish” then to say it in Spanish. Of course, one of my goals after that was to be sure to learn to pray for ya'll.I have to say all of your letters and support are awesome. I get the most letters in our district and I'd like to keep that title if that’s ok, so PLEASE keep writing me. Dear Elder.com is great. If you send it out before noon, we get it at four that day. Please write me on that all the time, but still, nothing beats a real life letter, so please send me some of those too. My companion hates when I get stuff, so of course whenever I do I skip around with it and sing Feliz Navidad. Seriously though, getting a letter here is better than Christmas- there’s no such thing as too much. My only regret is I can only write you once a week.Oh man, my computer’s about to time out, so I'm just going to finish this up now. Saturday night a kid in our district went home- it was crazy. Nobody knew why he left- obviously something was wrong there. I know why I'm here and I love it. I would never leave.I gotta go, my time is up but I love you all so much. The MTC is growing on me and the church is true. I'll start writing my letters to ya'll now. I love you-Elder Dan Kidd
